About me

| ”The more passion, energy and focus are being contributed to the design process, the more you can get from it.” S. Yevtushenko |
 |
| I am very passionate about design, always designing different products, so my mind stays fresh, and looking into the future where I can get vast experience in design industry. I always tend to set challenging goals for myself and do whatever it takes to achieve them. |
| My name is Serhiy Yevtushenko and this is my story |
In the Ukraine where I was born, I was never exposed to art or design. There was no opportunity to become an artist, but I was always observing and examining the world.
It was not until I came to the United States in 2000 that it was possible to explore my interest and abilities in design. While in high school in upstate New York, I took whatever art classes were offered.
Then, during my one year at a local community college, I developed a portfolio of work. It was during my freshmen year at The College for Creative Studies in Detroit, however, that I really learned to draw, and had my first occasion to study industrial design which I found to be tremendously exciting and energizing.
For my second year of college, I transferred to Coventry University in England as I found that this institution was renowned for encouraging innovative design. During my time at Coventry, my skills have developed tremendously, and I achieved recognition for my inventive shoe, automotive and product designs.
I am interested in innovation. I study things, and see them differently than they appear to others. As for my personality, I am calm, analytical and very exacting about my design projects. I have an ability to sense the right solution for complex problems.
During the design process, my level of concentration is high, and can see through to the implications and benefits in my concepts. Though I have natural leadership skills, I don’t mind following someone who has my respect.
I enjoy a well-spring of creativity and I am most energized by the feedback of the design process itself, as I am gaining knowledge and developing new skills. I am sure that I can become a useful and dynamic designer for a major company, and will contribute as much work and passion as I can.
Presently, my goal is to design something for which people would be grateful, and that will improve their lives either through purposeful design function or through humor and joy. |
